Wednesday, February 27, 2008 Fetching Boo from school today
Today marks the 3rd day of boo going to the childcare (cc). As what Maggie and my mom said yesterday, they planned to drop her at the cc, and will leave her there when she's not looking. Boo took her nap at home, and when Maggie brought her to the cc, they were just in time for tea! Today they were having chee cheong fun. As usual, when boo sees food, her eyes will twinkle and her attention will all be focused on the food. When chee cheong fun was served and boo was busy eating, maggie saw the chance & quickly left the cc without boo noticing...and Maggie called me when she reached home to ask me to fetch boo when i'm on the way back...I almost couldn't make it, as the meeting with my client dragged on...luckily i was able to leave at 6pm and by the time we reached the cc, it was almost 7pm. There were still about 7-8 kids left. When boo saw me, she was so excited, kept calling me mama mama. The caregiver told me she didn't cry today, but she's also not very cooperative...refused to sit & kept walking around the whole room...think the caregivers must be tired trying to get her to quiet down... Anyhow, i realised the cc didn't gave her water at all, cos she was so thirsty. i gave her the bottle of water that she brought to the cc, she drank non-stop and almost finished the whole bottle when we reached home, which is just 3 mins by car. Must make a note to the caregivers tmr to let her drink more... In the evening, we brought her to causeway point to buy a gold pendant. We've seeked boo's parents' (my brother & SIL) permission to let boo become our god-daughter. Though boo has always call us baba & mama, it just seems more perfect, now that she's officially our "daughter". She's very sweet, when maggie handed her a cup of tea & asked her to "jing cha" to baba, she took it with both hands and gave to k, calling baba. And she did the same to me as well...she seems to know this is a serious ceremony, and she was very steady...today me & k will sleep with a smile on our faces tonight.... :) :)
